Social media marketing doesn’t have to be overwhelming though it can seem that way for many small business owners. The thought of sitting down at your desk and taking time to create multiple posts every day and every week for social media (especially if you’re using more than one social media platform) may not be the best use of your time but nevertheless can be more than beneficial for the visibility of your business.
In this post, I’ll share three simple tools that I like using on the go (and at my desk) for creating fun and inspiring social media posts. The best part is that all three tools are free and one of them is a tool that you already have access to but may be under-utilizing!
I literally use Ripl every day now! Their company slogan is ‘A Marketing Team in Your Pocket‘ That’s exactly what it is!
Ripl is a smart phone app that allows you to create marketing posts any where, any time. It’s free to use allowing you access to a select amount of marketing templates that you can customize (font style, color, position of text and/or image). The free version allows you access to a limited amount of templates that you can customize and make your own though the Ripl logo will still appear on your marketing post when using the free plan.
I’ve still seen social media posts displaying the Ripl logo do well though. You can always upgrade to the paid pro version later (if preferred) once you’ve had a chance to play around with it and feel it’s an app that you’ll use frequently to create social media posts. The pro version is $9.99 plus tax per month which gives you an incredible amount of templates and the ability to personalize by adding your own logo to everything you create.
Otherwise, you can continue to use the free plan and still create a variety of attractive ‘still’ image posts, animated images, and mini slideshows.
Here are a two examples of Ripl posts that I created and posted on Instagram and Facebook:
Still Image post for Instagram:
Slide show post for Facebook:
Pexels.com has loads of free stock images that you can save and download from your computer or smart phone to help brighten up a social media post.
I usually download a photo from pexels and then use it as the background for a Ripl post like this example from Facebook:
This is how the pexels image looked before I added the styled font/text from the Ripl app:
If you’re just starting and don’t want to fool around with the Ripl app or any other apps and systems, you can use the pexel image alone and add your own text, motivational quote, or tip in the text portion of the post for platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
The important thing is to start posting and try to be as consistent as possible. You can make upgrades and add more to spice things up as you go along!
Smart Phone Camera
There is so much you can do with just your smart phone and even more when you pair it with free social media features and filters.
I took this photo of myself with my smart phone and posted it on LinkedIn along with some heartfelt text. It got fantastic engagement and reach.
Use your smart phone to create video by recording yourself or the surrounding area and share on social media. The post can be a tip showing your audience how to do something, saying hello, or other creative ways to help increase engagement for your business through social media.
If you’re using social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat, take advantage of the live video features and play around with the filters (on the ones you feel comfortable with) to create fun, engaging and helpful posts.
To your success,
P.S. – Are you currently using any of the options above or something similar to create consistent social media marketing posts for your business?
